Who we are
At Lir Therapeutics, we’re focused on unlocking the next generation of gene therapy, using advanced computational design methods. Our work right now centres on adeno-associated virus (AAV), which is the most widely used vector for gene therapy. We’re completely redesigning AAV, from the ground up, to generate therapies that are more effective, safer, and cheaper. Lir is founded by scientists with experience building gene therapies and AI for biology pipelines. Come join us and build a science-led biotech, right in central London!
Position overview
We’re looking for a Research Technician to join us in our wet lab team to help accelerate our viral vector work. We need someone well-versed in AAV and molecular biology – someone who’s eager to learn a ton and jump on new projects as they spin up. Optionally, we’d be really interested in talking to people with experience in lab management, as there is scope to open up this role in that direction.
We’re looking for a candidate that’s excited to get involved in every aspect of Lir’s work. The role will involve a lot of AAV production, coming up with and running weird cloning experiments, and potentially a wide range of other techniques depending on skills and interests. This will include tissue processing, NGS sample prep, tissue culture, inventory management, among other things!
Lir is growing quickly and our needs are growing too. Different weeks could look quite different, so we’re keen to speak to candidates that are adaptable and able to handle a fast-changing pace. We’re particularly interested in candidates that are looking to grow and develop within the role.

What we offer
We are only accepting candidates with an existing ability to work in the UK without employer sponsorship. We cannot provide visa sponsorship for this position, and regretfully we will not consider any applications that require this.
Here at Lir we’re an equal opportunity employer, and are committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion hiring practices
