Responsibilities

• Turn research into reality: Deploy and optimize transformer-based models for real-time inference across speech recognition, translation, and language understanding.
• Collaborate deeply: Work alongside researchers, engineers, and product leaders to design experiments, run evaluations, and ship features that improve user experience and performance.
• Build and optimize pipelines: Develop robust training, fine-tuning, and evaluation pipelines to continuously improve model performance and scalability.
• Own the system end-to-end: From prototyping new architectures to monitoring deployed models in production, you'll be responsible for building AI that works reliably in the real world.
• Stay on the edge: Keep up with the latest advances in AI, experiment with novel techniques, and help Soniox stay ahead in accuracy, speed, and efficiency.

Qualifications

You might thrive in this role if you:

• Have a strong background in deep learning, NLP, or speech technologies, and experience with transformer models (LLMs, ASR, MT, etc.).
• Are proficient in PyTorch and familiar with distributed training, fine-tuning techniques (LoRA, distillation, RLHF, etc.), and inference optimization.
• Have experience working with real-time or high-throughput systems, and care deeply about latency, reliability, and performance.
• Enjoy fast-paced environments where priorities evolve, and you're comfortable owning loosely scoped problems from start to finish.
• Have a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, AI, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
• Bonus: Experience with ASR models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or conversational reasoning systems.
