Process R&D Engineer, 2D Materials

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a highly skilled Process R&D Engineer to develop new technologies that enable the integration of 2D materials into industry-leading photonic fabrication processes. As an experienced scientist and research engineer, you will have strong expertise in polymer preparation optimization, particularly for applications involving the integration of 2D materials.
What will you be doing?
• Develop and optimize polymer preparation processes for the integration of 2D materials in photonic applications
• Investigate and improve material interfaces, focusing on the interactions of 2D materials after the transfer process
• Apply advanced chemical methodologies to enhance the growth and stability of graphene for high-performance applications
• Conduct in-depth analysis and characterization of materials to drive continuous improvement in process efficiency and reliability
• Stay at the forefront of scientific advancements in graphene and 2D materials, integrating best practices into our research and new process development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes within our overall graphene-integrated-photonics process flow
What we need to see?
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field
• Strong expertise in polymeric materials and their role in the preparation and integration of 2D materials for photonic applications
• Experience in working with 2D materials, including their synthesis, characterization, and integration in various applications
• Knowledge of CVD growth for graphene synthesis
• Hands-on experience with characterization techniques such as Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, AFM, and XPS
• Familiarity with cleanroom environments and nanofabrication techniques
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven, detail-oriented approach
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working, communicating, and collaborating in a cross-functional team
• An ability to adapt to a fast-moving start-up environment, striving for innovation and excellence in everything you do
