About the Position
The Research and Partnerships Associate (RPA) will play a pivotal role in strengthening collaboration between industry, universities, and government. The position focuses on identifying emerging industry challenges, co-designing research solutions, and supporting the growth of ARM Hub’s corporate membership program.
This is a dynamic and outward-facing role suited to someone who is passionate about research translation, enjoys relationship building, and has a strong commercial mindset.
Working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, Business Development and Lead Engineer, and alongside ARM Hub team members and experts, this is an exciting, busy and varied role, where no two days are the same.
This position reports to the ARM Hub Chief Commercial Officer for supervision, workload management and for Performance Planning and Review (PPR).

Key responsibilities include:
Partnership Building
- Engage with industry partners to identify technical and innovation challenges suitable for collaborative R&D.
- Identify and coordinate opportunities for external funding or co-investment to support joint research.
- Facilitate expert engagement in addressing business challenges, including potential opportunities to progress research and development
- Represent ARM Hub at industry and research events to promote partnerships and project outcomes.
- Contribute positively to strengthen ARM Hub client and funding body relationships.
Project Development
- Support the design and development of research project proposals and partnership agreements.
- Contribute to securing new corporate memberships and maintaining strong relationships with existing members.
- Actively participate in local and national business development activities in partnership with other support agencies/programs.
Systems and support
- Administer pre and post award processes associated with ARM Hub involvement in industry and research grant programs
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM system and grant portals, and assist in reporting on partnership performance.
- Undertake additional tasks as required by ARM Hub management in support of deliverables
Selection criteria
Essential
- Experience in business development, partnerships, or research engagement (industry, university, or government).
- Strong communication, proposal writing, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and build productive stakeholder relationships.
- An understanding of research funding mechanisms and industry-academia collaboration.
Desirable
- Experience managing corporate memberships or partnership portfolios.
- Familiarity with grant programs and research commercialisation pathways.
Remuneration and benefits
Remuneration: A competitive package commensurate with experience. You will additionally receive 12% superannuation.
Type of appointment
This appointment will be offered on an fixed-term, full-time basis for 12 months, with possibility of renewal subject to funding.
Location
The role is located at the ARM Hub facility at Northgate, Brisbane.
