Prototyping Technician
Suggested starting date: January 2026, Location: Vienna, on-site
About us
Holloid is a high-tech university spin-off revolutionizing bioprocess monitoring through in-line holographic microscopy. We empower some of the worldβs largest food, pharma, and water companies to "see the invisible" - enabling better decisions, cleaner processes, and next-level automation.
Backed by the EIC Accelerator and growing fast, we're turning cutting-edge science into real-world tools for sustainable food production, industrial fermentation, and environmental safety.
Job profile
Holloid is looking for a prototyping technician to join our lab team for 30-40 hours per week.
You will help us build and test prototypes for a digital laser microscope to be used in the microbiology and biotech industries. You will 3D print, glue, assemble and test. Experience with CAD, microfluidics, 3D printing and gluing technology is appreciated but not a requirement. There will be lots of precise, detailed manual work - if you enjoy listening to a podcast while painting miniatures, making origami, sewing or crocheting this job might suit you. If you are interested in microbiology and microfluidics there is the option to learn to design, produce and test chips, and to learn to record data with the microscope.
Work hours are flexible, the office is based at the BOKU right beside Heiligenstadt U4.
Suggested starting date: January 2026 but this can be discussed.
