What will you be doing?
As a Production Engineer, you play a crucial role in optimizing the production (AIT) processes for the building and development of existing and new tools or modules by focusing on:
- Safety
- Increasing efficiency
- Increasing quality
- Decreasing cycle time
- Decreasing costs by critically reviewing designs
- Improving the manufacturability/ease of assembly (at the factory and at suppliers)
- Decreasing environmental impact/carbon footprint/energy consumption
This position focuses on high-level problem-solving, analyzing production processes and identifying future issues. You support the introduction of new products and developing, implementing and maintaining (new) manufacturing procedures and processes.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including D&E, SCM and Finance to solve complex technical challenges for meeting production targets.
This position also involves overseeing the scheduling, planning, and coordination of manufacturing activities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality semiconductor products.
You will be part of the production engineering team directly reporting to the Chief of Operations.
What are the key responsibilities?
Resolve Production issues in a structural way:
- Identify and prioritize Production issues
- Drive and assist the resolution of technical QPCS-issues related to Production
- Assist in resolving issue in a structural way for new to-be-built tools by giving input to D&E from a Production perspective (see next bullet)
- Work closely with D&E teams to support Production capabilities and the design of new modules, tooling, components and procedures
Participate in design and review activities from a Production perspective:
- Participate in the (early) design stage of (changes in) subsystems
- Participate in (concept) review from a Production perspective
- Participate in FMEAs from a Production perspective
Control and oversee the introduction of new products and processes:
- Produce and maintain the Manufacturing Mix (procedures) for new products and processes
- Provide support during the implementation of new procedures
- Provide support during the transition from prototypes to mass production.
- Provides guidance and training to new manufacturing employees on existing manufacturing procedures.
Continuously improve AIT production processes:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in production planning and scheduling
- Implement best practices and participate in cross-functional initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
- Propose and implement improvements for (in cooperation with D&E) for safety, efficiency and environmental impact
- Initiate and propose engineering improvements to achieve design-for-manufacturability goals (safety, quality, efficiency, serviceability, etc.)
- Gather feedback from the production floor to improve Production (processes)
- Liaise with manufacturing teams to optimize build flows and cycle time
Additional responsibilities:
- Document technical issues, solutions, and improvements according to the company’s quality standards.
- Provide hands-on in supporting Assembly, Integration and Test (and Planning) if needed.
- Provide input to Production scheduling and capacity planning.
