About the Role

Job Title: Product Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features that deliver value to Kive’s end-users.
• Create jaw-dropping user experiences that even creatives wouldn't see coming.
• Experiment continuously with the latest AI technologies, from prototypes to polished features.
• Smooth rough edges and reduce friction for Kive users.
• Use AI approaches to augment your own and the team’s development processes to build and ship faster.

First 6 Months

In your first week:

• Set up your local environment and make a small quality of life improvement.
• Get familiar with the product and create some art.
• Ship at least a bug fix and/or a small feature to production.

In your first 3 months:

• Ship multiple significant features that deliver real customer value.
• Ship numerous bug fixes and improvements.
• Learn the ins and outs of our product and the market we serve.

In your first 6 months:

• Know the user, the product, and the tech; become unstoppable.
• Be deeply embedded in the tech stack and ship higher quality earlier.
• Actively collaborate with design to produce intuitive, beautiful experiences at speed.
• Shape how users experience creativity through AI.

Requirements

• As a sole contributor, you’ve shipped at least one project with an impressive UX and aggressive timeline.
• Proficient in TypeScript and React.
• Able to move easily between frontend and backend as a full-stack developer.
• Strong programming skills and a proven ability to write maintainable code.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Strong interest in creative applications of AI.
• Experience exploring or building something using LLMs or Diffusion models.
