Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced
PCB Designer
to join our aerospace engineering team, specializing in the development of advanced drone systems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing high-reliability, compact, and lightweight PCBs that meet stringent aerospace standards and drone-specific requirements. You will collaborate closely with electrical engineers, mechanical designers, and firmware developers to deliver optimized and production-ready designs.
Key Responsibilites:
- Design and layout complex multilayer PCBs for high-performance drone systems, considering size, weight, and power (SWaP) constraints.
- Collaborate with hardware and RF engineers to ensure optimal component placement, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance.
- Select appropriate components and materials suitable for aerospace environments (e.g., vibration, temperature, and altitude variations).
- Generate manufacturing documentation including Gerber files, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
- Perform DFM/DFT checks and coordinate with manufacturing partners to ensure successful prototyping and production.
- Participate in design reviews, failure mode analysis, and product verification processes.
- Implement industry standards such as IPC, DO-254, and MIL-STD practices where applicable.
- Continuously improve design processes, documentation, and component libraries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in PCB design, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability industries.
- Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or Mentor Graphics.
- Strong knowledge of high-speed signal layout, power distribution, grounding strategies, and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
- Familiarity with aerospace-grade connectors, PCB materials, and conformal coating processes.
- Experience working with drone platforms or similar UAV technologies is highly preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of RF PCB layout and impedance matching techniques.
- Exposure to simulation tools (e.g., SI/PI analysis, thermal simulation).
- Familiarity with ISO 9100, DO-160, and other aerospace compliance standards.
- Experience with version control tools and PLM systems.
