We are seeking an exceptional Principal Product Designer to lead design for our core AI experiences built on top of our industrial data and AI platform, Cognite Data Fusion (CDF). You'll drive design strategy across our platform while mentoring design talent and collaborating closely with engineering, product management, and support teams.

Key Responsibilities: Design Leadership & Strategy

• Define and execute a comprehensive design strategy, ensuring cohesive user experiences from data ingestion through the entire customer journey with our platform
• Partner closely with product managers and engineering leads to balance technical constraints with optimal user experiences
• Lead design thinking sessions and facilitate cross-functional workshops
• Manage and mentor design team members, providing guidance on their careers and design skills

Key Responsibilities: Product Design Excellence

• Create seamless experiences for both technical users and business stakeholders
• Develop sophisticated information architecture for large-scale data exploration and analysis tools
• Conduct user research with data professionals to understand pain points in existing workflows
• Present design concepts and rationale to executive leadership and external stakeholders

Key Responsibilities: Design Execution & Ownership

• Be accountable for end-to-end design within high-impact product areas, from concept to final implementation
• Partner with PMs to craft systematic solutions that connect the dots between user needs, data, business goals, and business strategy
• Partner with engineers to build impactful products and features within the constraints of our technology and timelines

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of product design experience with at least 3 years in senior or principal-level roles
• Proven track record designing complex B2B software, preferably in data, analytics, or AI/ML domains
• Experience with enterprise software design patterns and understanding of technical user workflows
• Portfolio demonstrating sophisticated problem-solving for complex, data-heavy interfaces
• Previous people manager experience
