HISKY is seeking a highly motivated
Pre-Sales Engineer with experience in the
Defence Sector
to bridge the gap between customer operational requirements and technical solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Product, R&D, and customers to understand mission needs, design tailored solutions, support business development efforts, and help secure new opportunities in the global defense market.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, customer-facing skills, systems thinking, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of operational requirement documents and prepare technical responses to customer operational and mission requirements.
- Support the sales team throughout the entire sales cycle, from opportunity identification to contract award.
- Engage directly with defense customers, military organizations, system integrators, and strategic partners to understand operational and technical requirements.
- Analyze customer needs and translate them into tailored technical solutions and system architectures.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, solution briefings, and customer workshops.
- Lead technical responses to customer inquiries.
- Develop solution concepts, technical proposals, system configurations, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Project teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and aligned with product capabilities.
- Support trade shows, exhibitions, customer visits, field demonstrations, and proof-of-concept activities.
- Provide competitive analysis and market intelligence to support business growth.
- Assist in defining product requirements based on customer feedback and market needs.
- Support transition activities from sales to project execution following contract award.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, systems engineering, solution engineering, or customer-facing engineering role.
- Experience working with defense organizations, military customers, government agencies, or defense contractors.
- Strong ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in satellite communications (SATCOM), RF systems, wireless communications, tactical communications, aerospace, or defense technologies.
- Experience working with military communication systems, ISR platforms, unmanned systems, or command-and-control environments.
- Familiarity with system architecture, network design, and integration activities.
- Background in systems engineering or solution architecture.
- Previous experience supporting international defense tenders and procurement processes.
- Security clearance or eligibility to obtain one is an advantage.
