Pre-Roll Production Specialist - Astoria, NY

We are seeking a Pre-Roll Production Specialist to join our laboratory and production team to help maintain high standards while supporting pre-roll manufacturing and quality control. Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the Pre-Roll Production Specialist is responsible for the accurate production, formulation, and packaging of pre-roll cannabis products while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal SOPs. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining operational efficiency in a laboratory and production environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment. The position is not limited to the duties listed below and the employee will often be asked to perform other related duties as requested or assigned.
Responsibilities
Laboratory & Workspace Management:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory and production environment, including equipment, supplies, and workstations
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain compliance with local and state cannabis regulations.
- Prepare, sterilize, and maintain laboratory instruments and supplies
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime
Pre-Roll Formulation & Production:
- Collaborate with the Laboratory Supervisor to formulate, knock, and dust pre-roll cones according to strain specifications and batch requirements
- Accurately prepare cannabis pre-rolls for packaging and shipping
- Assist with weighing and distributing flower to batches, ensuring correct strain and quantity
- Document all production steps in batch records, maintaining accurate and thorough records for regulatory compliance
Track & Trace & Compliance:
- Update inventory and compliance records in track-and-trace systems to maintain regulatory accuracy
- Ensure proper labeling, batch codes, and documentation for all products
- Support internal audits and quality control checks, ensuring all products meet company and regulatory standards
Quality Assurance & Sampling:
- Collect and prepare samples for laboratory analysis when required
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure product consistency
- Identify and report any discrepancies, failed products, or quality concerns to management
Team Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with other production staff to ensure efficient assembly line operations
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and boxing pre-rolls when needed
- Train and mentor new team members on SOPs, safety protocols, and production procedures
- Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding production status, supply needs, or operational challenges
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in cannabis production, laboratory work, or related manufacturing roles preferred
- Familiarity with pre-roll or similar product assembly is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to follow SOPs and safety procedures consistently
- Basic math skills and experience with weighing and measuring products accurately
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive manual tasks
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
