Position Overview:
Censys Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented intern to help label and classify LiDAR point-cloud datasets for utility asset and vegetation analysis. This role supports CensWise, Censys Technologies’ AI and geospatial analysis platform, by preparing classified .las datasets that can be used for technical review, quality control, and future machine-learning training workflows.
Responsibilities:
Classify LiDAR .las point-cloud datasets using Censys-provided guidance.
Identify and label required features, including:
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic familiarity/interest with LiDAR, GIS, point clouds, or geospatial data.
Experience with .las / .laz files or point-cloud viewing/classification tools (not required).
Strong attention to detail and patience for repetitive visual labeling tasks.
Ability to follow written classification standards and ask questions when features are unclear.
Interest in drones, utilities, mapping, AI training data, or geospatial technology.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Familiarity with tools such as CloudCompare, ArcGIS, QGIS, TerraScan, LP360, or similar point-cloud software.
Summary:
This is an entry-level technical role for someone who wants hands-on experience with drone-collected LiDAR data, utility infrastructure, and AI training-data preparation. The work requires accuracy, consistency, and careful visual review more than advanced software engineering experience.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
