About the Role

Job Title: Platform Engineer
Location: Stockholm
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain a scalable, secure, and high-performance platform.
• Improve the platform’s developer experience to empower product engineers to build more sophisticated features faster.
• Embody a culture of engineering excellence with high code quality standards.
• Set up infrastructure for deploying state-of-the-art machine learning models to high-performance GPU environments.
• Implement and maintain robust security practices to protect our platform and user privacy.
• Refine monitoring systems to track service performance, uptime, and key metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to help shape the direction of our product.

First 6 Months

Week 1:

• Set up your local environment and make a small quality of life improvement.
• Get familiar with the product and make some art!
• Ship at least a bug fix and/or a small feature to production.

3 Months:

• Make significant improvements to our backend infrastructure.
• Ship numerous end-user facing features.
• Make testing and deploying new machine learning models faster and at lower cost.
• Address technical debt, including key technology choices or broken windows.

6 Months:

• Become the go-to expert for all platform development.
• Continuously improve the platform while aligning with product goals.
• Elevate coding practices by mentoring peers and setting high standards for code quality and reviews.
• Maintain a robust monitoring system and security protocols, including an on-call rota.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working as a backend/full-stack engineer in fast-paced environments.
• Strongly proficient in TypeScript and open to Python and Rust when appropriate.
• Hands-on experience with deploying to cloud platforms and architecting scalable services.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Strong programming skills and a proven ability to write efficient and maintainable code.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Strong interest in creative applications of AI.
• Familiarity with GPU-accelerated computing environments.
