About the Role
Job Title: Plasma Physicist
Your Impact
- Develop and apply models that characterize the behavior of fusion plasmas.
- Interpret the latest experimental research from leading plasma facilities.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and industry partners to integrate plasma dynamics into the design process.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with academic partners to develop workflows that characterize plasma performance in:
- Edge impurity transport and exhaust scenarios
- Energetic particle interactions and burning plasma phenomena
- Plasma heating and fueling systems
- Communicate results and ensure reactor components meet requirements for effective plasma confinement and control.
Qualifications
- Hold a postgraduate degree in physics (plasma physics preferred but not essential).
- Proficient in Python, C++, and Fortran.
- Familiar with modern software development workflows.
- Proactive in problem framing and solution interrogation.
- Motivated to work with and cultivate a diverse team of physicists and engineers.
