Title: Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA)

Location: Dubai (Onsite)

Employment Type: 6+ month contract with possibility of extension

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise-level Oracle database environments supporting critical banking and financial systems. The role requires expertise in database administration, high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration (12c/19c preferred)
• Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and RMAN
• Strong performance tuning and troubleshooting capabilities
• Experience supporting banking or financial services environments
• Strong understanding of database security and regulatory compliance

Good to Have

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Experience with Oracle on Azure or AWS
• Exposure to cloud migration and modernization initiatives

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Operations

• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle Database 19c
• Manage production, UAT, and development environments
• Perform database provisioning, cloning, and refresh activities
• Monitor database health, capacity, and performance

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

Design and maintain Oracle Data Guard (Physical & Logical Standby)

Manage Oracle RAC environments and ASM storage configurations

Ensure RPO/RTO objectives are met

Conduct DR drills and failover testing

Core Banking & Critical Systems Support

Support at least one of the following systems:

o  Core Banking platforms (e.g., Oracle FLEXCUBE)

o  AML systems

o  Payment Switch / RTGS / SWIFT systems

o  Treasury & Risk platforms

o  Regulatory Reporting systems

Performance Tuning & Optimization

• Analyze AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports
• Optimize SQL queries and indexing strategies
• Identify and resolve locking, blocking, and performance bottlenecks
• Perform capacity planning and workload forecasting

Backup & Recovery

• Implement RMAN backup strategies
• Perform database restore and point-in-time recovery
• Automate backup monitoring and validation
• Ensure backup compliance with business policies

Security & Regulatory Compliance

• Implement database hardening standards
• Manage role-based access control

Ensure compliance with:

o  Central Bank of UAE IT Risk Guidelines

o  PCI-DSS (for cards business, if applicable)

o  Data privacy regulations

Support internal and external audit reviews
