NEURORADIOLOGIST – HAMILTON JURAVINSKI SITE

The Department of Medical Imaging, McMaster University and the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Hamilton Health Sciences are seeking a full-time academic neuroradiologist for the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre site.

The Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre (JHCC) is a large tertiary referral hospital and provincial cancer centre, with a busy neuro-oncology service. The radiology team supports the Juravinski Cancer Centre's Neuro-Oncology service and is committed to providing optimal evidence-based care to patients who are diagnosed with or suspected of having central nervous system tumours. The hospital also provides a full range of diagnostic clinical services, with a focus on oncology. Applicants must possess strong diagnostic skills which will enhance our tertiary oncology imaging team and multi-disciplinary programs and have experience in oncology imaging. The position involves scheduling in tertiary hospital and community practice settings. Clinical assignments include general radiology responsibilities and participation in the department’s general radiologist on-call schedule. The Juravinski Hospital Diagnostic Imaging Department is actively developing a subspecialty-based practice model, which will ultimately support the transition toward a dedicated neuroradiology call schedule. The successful candidate will be scheduled for clinical work, subspecialty and teaching rounds, including contributions of expertise and regular participation in multidisciplinary tumour board rounds.

This is a full-time faculty position at McMaster University, with academic rank commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will promote clinical scholarship through teaching, mentorship, and support for research and will demonstrate excellence in clinical care, and exhibit collegial, civil relations in all interactions. Participation in teaching and supervision for our strong residency and subspecialty programs, as well as undergraduate programs is required. The McMaster Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program is a highly rated training program in Canada. McMaster also has an accredited Neuroradiology Residency Program, which rotates neuroradiology residents to the Juravinski site.

Fellowship training in neuroradiology imaging is expected. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario, certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) and meet the credentialing requirements of Hamilton Health Sciences and radiology group affiliated community practices.
