Role Description

We are currently seeking passionate and talented  Modeling and Simulation Engineers  to join the Modeling and Simulation Team. The role is multidisciplinary, requiring a passion for new technology and the ability to thrive in a lean environment to achieve program objectives. This position plays a critical role in delivering certified eVTOLs into the Advanced Air Mobility Eco-System.

The role will involve work across multiple aspects of simulation and modeling for manned Air Mobility products, including:

• Capturing simulation and modeling requirements.
• Specifying and implementing simulation environments.
• Developing and supporting code and models.
• Integrating subsystem models of varying fidelity throughout the program lifecycle.
• Deploying simulation models on test rigs.
• Providing support to the user community.

The role will require collaboration across many disciplines, including Flight Characteristics, Loads, Aerodynamics, Flight Controls, and Testing (simulation, rigs, ground, and flight), as well as involvement in requirements management to support certification efforts.

The successful candidate will be part of a small technical team, requiring excellent interpersonal skills (in a multilingual environment), a strong work ethic, efficient self-management, and a passion for learning and developing others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for all simulation and modeling projects.
• Actively participate in the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of simulation environments.
• Collaborate with simulation users to design new features and enhance the user experience.
• Support aircraft-level integration by providing simulation tools, knowledge, and expertise to other technical teams.
• Positively contribute to the development and management of simulation requirements, including validation, verification, and certification compliance.
• Apply best practices by combining knowledge from conventional aerospace and new approaches.

Desirable

• Knowledge of flight dynamics and simulation for multirotor aircraft. If lacking practical experience, an understanding of key differences between multirotor and conventional aircraft theory is expected.
• Understanding of multirotor aerodynamics and their impact on simulation requirements.
• Experience working with or knowledge of multirotor flight controllers, electrical propulsion, and energy storage systems (professional or hobbyist).
• Familiarity with adopting new aerospace technologies and supporting novel aircraft configurations.
• Understanding of rotor blade aerodynamics and rotor dynamics to the extent they influence aircraft behavior.
• Knowledge of proposed regulations and means of compliance.
