Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior React Native Developer for our organization. You will be responsible for building and maintaining our mobile application, implementing offline-first architecture, integrating native device features, and ensuring a seamless user experience for field workers who rely on the app daily.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Development

• Build responsive, performant React Native screens using TypeScript
• Implement offline-first architecture with background sync capabilities
• Create complex mobile features including: GPS-based check-in/check-out with geofencing
• Voice recording and audio file management
• Camera integration for photo/document capture
• Push notification handling and deep linking
• Interactive scheduling and calendar views
• Form builders with offline validation
• Implement real-time updates using Supabase Realtime
• Ensure smooth performance on both iOS and Android devices

Native Integration

• Integrate device APIs (Location, Camera, Microphone, Notifications)
• Handle background tasks and location tracking
• Implement secure local storage and data encryption
• Manage app permissions and graceful fallbacks
• Configure and manage Expo modules and native builds

Backend Contribution

• Write Supabase Edge Functions for mobile-specific logic
• Design sync strategies for offline data reconciliation
• Create efficient API queries optimized for mobile
• Implement real-time subscriptions for live updates

Quality & Performance

• Write unit and integration tests for critical flows
• Optimize app startup time and runtime performance
• Implement error boundaries and crash reporting
• Ensure accessibility compliance for diverse users
• Monitor and reduce battery/data consumption

Skills

React Native & Expo

• Component architecture, hooks, navigation
• Expo managed workflow, EAS Build, OTA updates
• Native module integration and configuration

TypeScript

• Strong typing, generics, utility types
• Type-safe API responses and state management

Offline-First Architecture

• Local database (SQLite, WatermelonDB, or similar)
• Sync strategies, conflict resolution
• Background task management

State Management

• React Query for server state
• Zustand or Redux for client state
• Offline queue management

Native APIs

• Geolocation, geofencing, background location
• Camera, microphone, file system
• Push notifications (FCM/APNs)

Testing & Quality

• Jest, React Native Testing Library
• Detox or Maestro for E2E testing
• Crash reporting (Sentry, Crashlytics)

DevOps

• App Store and Play Store submission process
• CI/CD for mobile (EAS, Fastlane, or similar)
• Code signing and release management
