About the Role
Auric AI is building an AI-powered Multi-INT platform for national defense. We correlate satellite imagery, SIGINT, HUMINT, and open-source intelligence to detect high-value military assets and track tactical developments across theaters.
We're seeking a Military Intelligence Analyst with deep knowledge of military hardware, doctrine, and force structures. You'll serve as the ground-truth authority for our AI models—identifying equipment, validating detections, and providing the tactical context our systems need to deliver actionable intelligence.
What You'll Do
Intelligence Analysis & Ground Truth
- Identify and classify military hardware from satellite/drone imagery: MBTs, SAM systems, artillery, radars, naval vessels, fortifications
- Validate AI detections against your knowledge of equipment specifications, deployment patterns, and tactical doctrine
- Flag ambiguous cases (camouflage, decoys, degraded imagery) and explain the intelligence reasoning
Taxonomy Development
- Build classification hierarchies based on real-world military structures (e.g., S-400 battery → TEL vehicle → specific radar configuration)
- Incorporate ORBAT knowledge to contextualize detections (why this unit is here, what does its presence indicate)
- Create labeling guidelines that reflect actual intelligence workflows
Change Detection & Pattern Analysis
- Track force movements, build-ups, and repositioning across time-series imagery
- Correlate visual changes with known military logistics, exercises, and border tensions
- Provide strategic context: what tactical shift does this deployment pattern suggest?
AI Model Improvement
- Work with CV engineers to prioritize model development based on operational impact
- Explain failure modes from an analyst perspective (why did the model miss this SAM site?)
- Guide dataset selection and labeling priorities
Who You Are
Required:
- Deep knowledge of military equipment and force structures - you can identify vehicle types, understand why equipment is deployed in specific configurations, and know what different systems do.
- ORBAT familiarity - you understand how militaries organize units and can reason about deployment patterns.
- Defense intelligence mindset - you think like an analyst, not just an image processor.
Strongly Preferred:
- Prior work in military intelligence (uniformed or civilian), defense contractors, or national security agencies
- IMINT, GEOINT, or all-source intelligence background
- Experience with intelligence collection platforms, reporting formats, or tactical products
Technical Skills (can be learned):
- Image annotation tools (CVAT, Label Studio) - we'll train you
- QGIS/Google Earth Pro - basic navigation is sufficient
- SAR/multispectral imagery - nice to have, not required
What We're NOT Looking For
This isn't a GIS analyst role. We need someone who can look at a radar deployment and explain what air defense system it's part of, not someone who digitizes polygons. Pure remote sensing backgrounds without a defense context won't succeed here.
For Candidates Without Formal Intel Background
If you haven't worked in intelligence but have obsessively studied military equipment, follow defense developments, can identify platforms from silhouettes, and understand tactical employment—we want to hear from you.
Demonstrate your knowledge:
- Personal projects tracking military deployments using open-source imagery
- Deep familiarity with platforms like Oryx, Janes, or conflict monitoring initiatives
- Ability to discuss specific force structures, equipment variants, or tactical doctrine
- Self-taught expertise with genuine passion beats credentialed experience without depth.
