THE ROLE
The MES Manager will lead the delivery of MES projects across our client portfolio, working across the full project lifecycle from client engagement and solution design through to deployment and post-go-live support. This is a hands-on leadership role within a growing practice, with responsibility for both client outcomes and team performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Client Delivery:
- Lead client engagements across the MES project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution scoping, process design, implementation, and post-deployment support.
- Act as a trusted technical and delivery lead for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring high standards of delivery throughout.
- Contribute to pre-sales activities including scoping, effort estimation, and commercial proposals.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical direction on MES architecture and integration within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Maintain platform-agnostic expertise across major MES systems, advising clients on the most appropriate solutions for their environment.
- Ensure all deliverables meet applicable regulatory and compliance requirements, including GxP and data integrity standards.
Team & Practice Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of MES consultants, supporting their development, performance, and engagement.
- Contribute to hiring and onboarding of new team members as the practice grows.
- Work with the management team to develop internal methodologies, toolkits, and delivery frameworks.
Operational Performance:
- Monitor and report on project health, resource utilisation, and client satisfaction.
- Flag risks and issues early, escalating where appropriate to the management team.
- Contribute to practice-level metrics including delivery quality, margin, and team retention
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Experience
- Over five years of experience as a manager in MES implementation within a pharmaceutical environment, with responsibilities in landscape planning, specification and design, deployment, and lifecycle support.
- In depth technical knowledge of at least one major MES system deployed on a pharmaceutical environment.
- Team development and leadership experience.
- Ability to work across the sales cycle covering scoping, pricing, justification and delivery.
- Ability to build a global service and delivery methodology.
- An understanding of the environment and culture needed to attract, retain, develop, and engage a high-performance global services team.
