Role Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for a Medical Laboratory Scientist in Colombo. The Medical Laboratory Scientist will be responsible for collecting and analyzing specimens, interpreting results, and providing data to physicians. The Medical Laboratory Scientist will also be responsible for quality control and ensuring adherence to laboratory protocols and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

· BSc / MSc in Genetics / Biomedical Science/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology

· Minimum 1 year working experience in a Clinical or Research Laboratory

Skills :

Basic knowledge and experience in common molecular biology techniques such as:

• PCR
• DNA extraction
• DNA sequencing

Responsibilites:

· Processing infectious samples in a molecular diagnostic laboratory

· Patient and Clinician communication

· Logistics and Sample Routing

· Report review and delivery

· Fiduciary management of samples collected

General Skills :

· Team player

· Computer skills – general (e-mail, internet, MS office)

· Excellent Communication skills

· Presentation skills

· Good knowledge in writing and speaking English
