Role Overview:
Gig Engineer is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer Intern on behalf of it's client.
As a Graduate Mechatronic Engineer at the company, you will be part of a cross-functional, project-focused team. You will report to the Senior Mechatronic Engineer and will work primarily on automation, production, and digital systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver diverse engineering projects from concept through implementation.
- Develop and integrate automation systems (PLC/HMI, motion, vision, SCADA, server-side and front-end systems, data, analytics).
- Machine builds and upgrades, including electrical, mechanical, and controls.
- Implement engineering standards, documentation, and equipment data models.
- Deliver reliability projects aimed at modern maintenance and predictive approaches.
- Troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments and disciplines.
- Produce high-quality, well-structured engineering work with strong attention to detail.
- Stay focused and methodical under real production pressures and time-sensitive conditions.
- Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate documentation of technical work, project files, and progress reports, and communicate effectively with engineers and project managers.
Health and Safety
- Ensure and enforce that aspects in the area of responsibility conform to health and safety requirements.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the area of responsibility (e.g. ensure cleanliness of assigned machines and areas).
- Work safely and report on safety hazards or issues.
- Report any accidents, incidents and near misses.
Quality
- Apply the company’s quality principles and standards.
- Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Food Safety System Certification (FSSC)
- Apply the site’s food safety principles and standards.
- Report any food safety hazards or issues to your Supervisor/Manager.
- Comply with and maintain all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) in relation to the Company’s FSMS (Food Safety Management System).

Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics engineering preferred.
- Engineering degrees in related fields will be considered where candidates can demonstrate cross-disciplinary capability.
- Diploma in Mechatronics will be considered for candidates with exceptional technical capability and proven project experience.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience.
