Job Purpose

This engineering role is responsible for overseeing maintenance and engineering operations while driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives in a chemical manufacturing plant. The position requires a hands-on leader who can holistically evaluate plant equipment, implement safer and more efficient processes, and build critical maintenance programs for long-term reliability. The role plays a key part in identifying and executing process improvements, leading select CapEx projects, and ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and operational efficiency across the facility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee plant maintenance and engineering functions to support safe and efficient operations.
• Conduct holistic assessments of plant equipment and processes, identifying opportunities for upgrades, performance improvements, and safer procedures.
• Build and manage critical preventative and predictive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
• Partner closely with EHS to improve safety standards across machinery, storage, and process operations.
• Lead and execute select Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects, primarily around racking, storage, and production flow.
• Champion and implement lean manufacturing principles (e.g., L4/S5), driving continuous improvement across the facility.
• Analyze equipment performance and process bottlenecks, implementing solutions to optimize throughput and efficiency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, EHS, and leadership to gain buy-in and drive execution of plant-wide improvements.
• Support new equipment commissioning and upgrades to align with production and safety goals.
• Develop and standardize engineering and maintenance procedures, documentation, and training.
• Influence cultural change by challenging outdated practices, standing firm on necessary improvements, and effectively gaining buy-in from stakeholders.
