1. Deliver Projects as per PO Timelines, Cost, and Quality – Ensure all mechanical design deliverables meet agreed project schedules, cost objectives, and quality benchmarks. Drive design ownership and accountability across the team.
2. Build Capacity and Capability for FOK Design at Scale – Establish robust design frameworks, tools, and methodologies to enable scalable FOK product development. Build and mentor a high-performing mechanical design team capable of tackling complex, novel engineering challenges.
3. Develop Reliable Vendor Partnerships for Build – Identify, qualify, and collaborate with manufacturing and fabrication partners to ensure design feasibility and production readiness. Create a reliable supplier ecosystem for rapid prototyping and scalable manufacturing.
4. Ensure Zero Design and Manufacturing Failures – Implement comprehensive design validation, verification, and testing processes. Drive continuous improvement to minimize rework, downtime, and field failures.
5. Build Respect for the Design Function – Position the mechanical design team as a strategic enabler within the organization. Foster a culture of technical excellence, creativity, and collaboration across R&D, production, and operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 15–18 years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in robotics, automation, automotive, or industrial systems.
• Proven track record in designing and delivering First-of-its-Kind (FOK) solutions from concept to production.
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM), prototyping, and new product industrialization.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams and managing end-to-end design-to-build cycles.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Expertise in 3D CAD and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, ANSYS).
• Strong fundamentals in materials, kinematics, and mechanical systems design.
• Deep understanding of robotic structures, mobility systems, and automation hardware.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and drive alignment between design, manufacturing, and operations.
