Position Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Overview

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of mechanical systems, equipment, and components. The role requires hands-on experience in industrial mechanical design, strong engineering fundamentals, and the ability to take ownership of design activities from concept to implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, basic, and detailed mechanical designs for systems and equipment
• Create and review 2D drawings and 3D CAD models
• Perform design calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements
• Coordinate with manufacturing, inspection, procurement, and quality teams
• Review and approve vendor drawings and technical submissions

Expected Competency Level

• Ability to work independently on design assignments
• Capability to own designs from concept to commissioning
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
• High attention to engineering detail and documentation quality

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Creo / Inventor or equivalent)
• Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing standards
• Familiarity with ASME, ISO, ASTM, or equivalent standards

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Experience in industrial equipment, machinery, refinery, or process plant projects
• Exposure to FEA / structural or thermal analysis
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, or rotating equipment
• Experience in design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly (DFM/DFA)
• Ability to handle multiple projects independently
