About Nautica Technologies
Nautica Technologies is building autonomous robotic systems for proactive ship-hull maintenance. Our robots help keep vessels in a continuously cleaner state, reducing fuel consumption, emissions, and operational inefficiencies caused by biofouling. We work at the intersection of robotics, autonomy, maritime operations, and sustainability, and are already collaborating with major shipping companies to bring this technology into live commercial use.
The Role
We are looking for a maritime professional who can help bridge the gap between innovative technology and real-world vessel operations. This role is ideal for someone who understands how ships are operated in practice and is excited to help deploy a new category of robotic infrastructure across commercial fleets.
You will work closely with our founders, customers, and engineering team to ensure Nautica’s solutions are deployable, trusted, and operationally relevant in the field. You will help turn pilot projects into repeatable commercial operations.
What You’ll Do
- Act as Nautica’s maritime point of contact for shipowners, operators, technical managers, captains, and port-side stakeholders
- Support planning and execution of pilot projects, onboard deployments, and commercial rollouts
- Coordinate vessel-side operational readiness, including scheduling, access, crew coordination, port interfaces, and practical constraints
- Help define and improve SOPs for installation, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and escalation
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in the maritime industry, ideally in technical operations, fleet management, vessel operations, marine engineering, or a customer-facing shipping role
- Strong understanding of how commercial vessels are managed in practice
- Ability to work across technical, commercial, and operational topics
- Comfortable dealing with superintendents, technical managers, captains, agents, and senior decision-makers
- Highly structured and execution-oriented
- Excited to work hands-on in an early-stage startup environment
- Willingness to travel and spend time close to real-world deployments
Strong Plus
- Experience with drydock, hull maintenance, coatings, inspections, or underwater services
- Existing network across shipowners, technical managers, or operators
- Exposure to newbuilding, retrofits, marine equipment, or class-related processes
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
- Commercial instinct and ability to support deal progression
