We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Avular Team!
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Avular, you play a key role in translating product designs into efficient, scalable, and high-quality production processes. You will bridge the gap between development and operations, working closely with R&D to support Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and prototyping. You will ensure the production processes for our innovative products are optimised for assembly, quality, and cost from an early development stage onwards. You combine strong process thinking with hands-on engineering skills to maintain our workshop, establish stable production, and drive continuous improvement across multidisciplinary teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Process Design & Mapping: Design, develop, and implement robust production processes, including defining manufacturing flows and requirements, and establishing optimised material flows, layouts and quality checks.
Work Instructions: Create, structure, and maintain clear work instructions to ensure consistent quality and throughput.
Tooling & Equipment: Design, build, and validate production tooling, jigs, and fixtures, including defining requirements, tolerances, and usability for operators.
R&D Collaboration (DfM): Partner closely with R&D engineering teams during product development to improve our products with Design for Manufacturing (DfM) principles, including assisting with prototyping.
Workshop Ownership: Organise, support, and maintain the electronics/mechanical workshop, taking responsibility for equipment availability, workplace organisation, safety, and consumables.
Continuous Improvement: Lead root-cause investigations for structural production or quality issues and proactively implement continuous improvement practices to eliminate bottlenecks.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate effectively with mechanical, electrical, software, and operations disciplines, ensuring manufacturing decisions align with overall product and business objectives.
