SiLC Technologies builds world-class 4D sensing systems combining photonics, electronics and embedded software. As we transition Eyeonic from development to volume production, we need manufacturing engineers who can make processes robust, scalable and cost-effective.
Position summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will own process development and production support for the Eyeonic sensor (laser module) program. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and operations: you will define assembly/test processes, own the Eyeonic BOM/part flow at build points, establish data collection & analysis routines, and drive continuous improvement across in-house and ODM builds.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, document and hand-off manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures and work instructions for Eyeonic assembly (including fiber handling, epoxy dispense, and soldering).
- Own the Eyeonic BOM lifecycle at the manufacturing level: ensure parts are available at the point of use, maintain BOM accuracy and coordinate with purchasing/ops for shortages.
- Experienced with Matlab and/or Python for test data analysis and visualization.
- Define inspection and test procedures; implement data capture and visualization for yield tracking and SPC.
- Partner with engineering, quality and procurement to validate supplier/ODM manufacturing flows and handoffs.
- Collaborate with finance to develop cost models and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, manufacturing) or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering role (electronics or photonics preferred).
- Hands-on with process development (assembly, test, fixtures) and strong SOP/work-instruction writing skills.
- Experience with BOM management in an ERP (NetSuite exposure is a plus).
- Proficient with data analysis and visualization (Excel advanced, Python and Matlab).
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Preferred
- Experience in optical or LiDAR product manufacturing, fiber optics, or small-form-factor sensor assembly.
- Solid problem-solving experience (root cause analysis, 8D, FMEA).
Logistics & compensation
- Location: Monrovia, CA (on-site).
- Employment type: Full-time salaried.
- Salary range: $60,000–$80,000 + equity and benefits.
