About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Manager/Senior Manager, Procurement
to support both
Manufacturing (transition to production)
and
R&D procurement
and sourcing activities within a semiconductor equipment environment. This role is essential in driving supplier excellence, enabling rapid prototyping and ensuring a smooth transition from design to high-volume manufacturing.
Job Summary
Supplier Sourcing & Relationship Management
Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers and contract manufacturers in
Malaysia, Singapore and other regional locations
.
Build strong and sustainable vendor partnerships to ensure cost competitiveness, quality performance, and supply reliability.
Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and performance reviews.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term supply agreements that align with company objectives.
R&D Prototype Procurement
Manage end-to-end procurement of
prototype components and assemblies
, including standard, off-the-shelf mechanical and electrical parts and custom-designed components requiring specialized fabrication
Coordinate closely with R&D and Product Development teams to understand engineering requirements, specifications, tolerances, and timelines.
Understand engineering drawings, BOMs, and CAD documentation to verify material, process, and quality requirements.
Ensure timely sourcing and delivery to support rapid design iterations and project milestones.
Engineering & Documentation Management
Review and interpret
BOMs, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
.
Work with Engineering and Operations to ensure clarity and manufacturability of documentation.
Provide feedback to R&D on sourcing risks, cost drivers, material selection, and manufacturability considerations.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
Partner with R&D, Operations, and Manufacturing Engineering to transition new product designs into
high-volume manufacturing
.
Drive early supplier involvement (ESI) to optimize design for cost, quality, and supply chain scalability.
Support ramp-up activities including pilot builds, qualification runs, and supplier readiness.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in
Supply Chain Management
or
Engineering
(Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related disciplines).
Minimum
5-8 years of procurement experience
in semiconductor equipment, precision engineering, or complex capital equipment industries.
Strong knowledge of regional suppliers and contract manufacturers, especially in Singapore and Malaysia.
Strong understanding of engineering documentation:
BOMs, technical drawings, GD&T, work instructions
.
Material and Process Expertise in the follow area are strongly preferred.
Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management skills in both English and Mandarin, in order to deal with internal and external stakeholders across the region.
Ability to work cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
