The Opportunity

A leading international shipping company is looking for a dynamic Logistics and Container Operations Executive to manage container logistics and transshipment activities in Malaysia. Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless cargo connectivity across vessel networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Transshipment Management: Coordinate transshipment plans, monitor vessel connectivity, and execute declarations to ensure cargo connects successfully between mother vessels and feeders.
• Container Logistics: Monitor container stock levels at contracted depots and arrange the repositioning of empty units based on global requirements.
• Operational Coordination: Manage trucking, work orders, and dispatch notices for import/export movements while ensuring container utilization follows a FIFO (First-In-First-Out) basis.
• Vendor & Data Management: Verify vendor invoices, update system container movements within 48 hours, and prepare weekly stock forecasts and monthly logistics reports.
• Equipment Control: Coordinate container surveys for on/off-hires and advise booking teams on equipment availability, specifically for specialized units like Reefers and Flatracks.

The Ideal Candidate

• Education: Preferably a Diploma holder or GCE ‘A’ Level.
• Experience: A background in shipping or freight forwarding is highly advantageous.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook) with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Attributes: A hardworking, systematic individual who can work independently and communicate effectively with global back-office teams and external vendors.
