ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re hiring a hands-on Lab Technician to keep our labs running smoothly and to support reliable, high-quality experimental work. You’ll combine excellent lab housekeeping with careful documentation, inventory, and equipment upkeep, and day-to-day experimental support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist research workflows with sample handling and preparation, simple assays, and basic cell culture tasks under supervision and using aseptic technique.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Below are some key skills and experiences that would help you succeed in this role. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t check every single one:

• Educational background: Diploma or BSc in biology, biotechnology, biomedical sciences or related disciplines
• Demonstrated experience in a wet lab environment and strong aseptic technique.
• Working knowledge of COSHH, risk assessments, and SOP-driven workflows.
• Comfortable preparing buffers, media, and performing accurate weighing and dilutions.
• Familiar with common analytical equipment such as pH meters and cell counters.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping in ELN or LIMS.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach across teams.

The following skills and experiences would help you stand out even more:

• Foundational skills in mammalian cell culture, with direct hands-on experience in different cell models/types.
• Experience following protocols for maintenance and sterilisation of cell incubators, water baths, and biological safety cabinets.
• Exposure to bioprocess or benchtop bioreactors, calibration, or validation workflows.
• Knowledge of equipment booking systems and routine maintenance scheduling.

Please note that you will be expected to work on-site in our labs in White City.
