The Role

We are seeking a Lab Supervisor to lead day‑to‑day laboratory execution across molecular diagnostics and tissue culture–based genetic preservation workflows. This is a hands‑on role for someone with strong molecular biology fundamentals who can execute SOP‑driven work independently and maintain operational discipline in a growing lab environment.

The Lab Supervisor will execute assays and experimental workflows designed by the scientific lead, maintain lab readiness, and coordinate laboratory activities supporting molecular diagnostics and tissue culture–based genetic processing. This role is operationally focused and does not require prior cannabis‑specific experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesLaboratory Operations

• Execute qPCR assays, nucleic acid extractions, and related molecular workflows
• Maintain aseptic technique and organized laboratory workflows
• Prepare reagents, buffers, and media for molecular biology and tissue culture
• Perform intake processing and documentation of genetic material
• Support laboratory workflows that may include tissue culture–based genetic processing under established SOPs

Assay Execution & Documentation

• Execute validation and experimental runs according to established SOPs
• Maintain accurate experimental records, QC logs, and inventory tracking
• Report results, deviations, and observations to the scientific lead

Lab Readiness & Compliance

• Maintain equipment readiness, calibration logs, and inventory levels
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and internal quality standards
• Support workflow improvements for efficiency and consistency

Team Coordination

• Coordinate daily lab tasks and workflow priorities
• Support training and onboarding of additional laboratory staff as needed

Qualifications

• BS in Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Plant Science, or related field
• 2+ years of hands‑on laboratory experience (academic, biotech, diagnostics, or CRO)
• Experience with qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, pipetting accuracy, and aseptic technique
• Cell culture experience (mammalian, microbial, or plant) or willingness to learn
• Strong attention to detail, documentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to follow SOPs and work independently

Cannabis or plant‑specific biotechnology experience is not required.
