Gig Engineer is seeking 2x Junior to Mid-level skilled SharePoint developers for its client in the banking sector.
Contract Duration: From 1 February to 31 December 2026
Location: The resources would initially be onsite to meet and integrate with the existing SharePoint team; thereafter, they would be remote unless required onsite for meetings and/or workshops.
Function:
•Basic administration of SharePoint Online to take care of Remedy requests and repetitive tasks, to free up our client resources for more engineering-focused tasks. Our client resources will train the resources in the line of duty.
The responsibilities of the resource would include the following:
Scope of Services
The services required relate to SharePoint administration and governance and comprise the following:
•Documentation and optimisation of processes
•Incorporate implemented changes (configuration, governance, site lifecycle actions) into design, governance and operational documents.
•Drive IT Service Management (ITSM) disciplines to reduce incidents and improve adherence to the client's incident, change and problem ticket requirements for SharePoint-related work.
•Maintain and publish site provisioning, retention, classification and disposal procedures.
SharePoint object & site administration
•Implement and manage procedures for SharePoint site provisioning, site lifecycle, content types, metadata and permission management in accordance with the client's guidelines.
•Implement and manage SharePoint account and permission administration processes in line with the client's procedures (including site owners, groups, external sharing controls and OneDrive for Business settings).
•Obtain approval from the client for any new or updated procedures affecting SharePoint services or governance.
•Perform all administration of SharePoint objects (site collections, sites, lists, libraries, content types, managed metadata) based on requests from the ITSM system in line with the client's procedures.
•Perform migrations and restructures between platforms (on-premises, hybrid, SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365) as required for purposes of SharePoint object administration and content consolidation.
Technical Support for SharePoint Services
•Support SharePoint Online operations, including monitoring service health, managing databases/backups/restores, and ensuring virus/malware scanning and DLP integration as required.
•Provide technical support and incident escalation in collaboration with cross-functional teams during outages or degraded states affecting SharePoint, OneDrive or integrated services (search, Teams, Power Platform).
