Job Summary:
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is a nonprofit, applied research division of the Georgia Institute of Technology, focused on solving complex problems for government and industry. They are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and test software applications and products, manage software development teams, and establish software development lifecycle practices.
Responsibilities:
• Perform software development, debugging, modification, enhancement, and documentation
• Develop and maintain kernel and user-level software and scripts
• Contribute to technical reports and presentations
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience with troubleshooting computing system level issues
• Experience with Linux, UNIX or Windows
• Scripting language experience such as python, bash, etc
• Knowledgeable in version control software such as GIT
• Experience managing groups of engineers in the planning and exercising of integration and test activities.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and customer interfacing activities.
• U.S. Citizenship Requirements: Candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.
• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
Preferred:
• Active Secret Clearance
• Experience in software engineering and development
• Test automation tooling
• Complex programs that involved hardware, software, communications and networking
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter and ability to work in a team environment
• Existing secret clearance, or the ability to obtain an interim clearance within 180 days and full clearance thereafter
