The Role:

  

We are looking for a motivated (Junior) Backend Engineer to join our team. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious candidate who is a generalist and would like to be involved in and learn about the various aspects of a backend system.

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Write code to perform operation tasks in an efficient and automated manner.
• Carry out maintenance and updates in databases.
• Assist senior engineers with debugging tasks.
• Maintain a thorough, up-to-date view of the backend system.

  Requirements:

 

• Good coding skills with Python are important. Additional experience with Ruby, Rust or Java would be a plus.
• Ability to do Bash scripting and overall Unix fluency.
• Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) would be a big plus.
• Knowledge cloud platforms (especially Azure) would be a plus.
• Good communication skills are essential.

Nice-to-Have:

 

• Understanding of design patterns and software architecture.
• Experience with documentation (flowcharts, component diagrams etc.).
• Broad knowledge of the state-of-the-art in tools, techniques, etc.
