Ergo is seeking an IT Security Specialist for an exciting opportunity with a well-known client in Galway . The IT Security Specialist will fulfil the role of a hands-on Engineer with overall responsibility for Security risk assessments and the management / mitigation of network, cloud, server and information environments.

Experience in IT Auditing, vulnerability assessments and gap analysis as per ISO27001 and NIS2 are also preferred.

This is a permanent role requiring one or two days per week onsite.

What will you do?

• Implement and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures (ISO27001, NIS2).
• Conduct regular system audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability testing.
• Collaborate with all departments to promote best security practices.
• Monitor, analyse, and respond to security alerts and incidents.
• Ensure network security is in line with market standards using firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint protection platform, and encryption tools.
• Oversee the management of the system backups and DR procedures.
• Detecting, analysing, and responding to security breaches.
• Log analysis and digital forensics

You should have experience in the following:

• Network and endpoint security, identity management, and compliance standards.
• SIEM tools and incident response workflows.
• Network Security, Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, Endpoint protection, DLP, Vulnerability scanners, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Active Directory, LDAP, Role-based access control (RBAC), MFA.
• Cloud Security and Azure & AWS security best practices.

One or more of the following certifications is desirable:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
• CompTIA Security+.
• GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).
