Role Overview
The IT Sales & Business Development Manager will lead the company’s efforts to drive revenue growth and expand market presence across strategic IT service areas, including Managed Services, Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Software Development, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Cloud Computing. The IT Sales & Business development Manager is responsible for translating complex technology solutions into clear business value, developing new business opportunities, closing high-value deals, and building long-term client relationships to support the company’s strategic growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets in IT managed services, AI & RPA, software development, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and cloud solutions.
• Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across enterprise, government, and SME markets.
• Prepare and deliver tailored proposals, bids, and solution demonstrations.
• Negotiate high-value contracts with favourable terms while safeguarding profitability.
• Maintain a strong and accurate sales pipeline, reporting directly to the CEO.
• Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities in the IT space.
• Develop go-to-market plans for new services, solutions, and geographic markets.
• Establish strategic alliances with vendors, OEMs, technology providers, and channel partners to strengthen the company’s market position.
• Represent the company at IT trade fairs, industry conferences, and networking forums.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with C-level executives, decision-makers, and key influencers.
• Act as a strategic advisor to clients, aligning IT solutions with business transformation goals.
• Ensure customer satisfaction, resolve escalations quickly, and oversee service delivery success.
•Drive upselling and cross-selling within existing client accounts.
• Partner with the CEO to define annual sales objectives and growth priorities.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and market insights to aid strategic decision-making.
• Track sales performance against targets, recommending improvements where necessary.
• Contribute to annual business planning and budgeting processes.
• Work closely with technical teams to ensure solution feasibility and successful implementation.
• Partner with marketing to design campaigns that generate qualified leads in target market areas.
• Mentor junior sales/business development staff and foster a high-performance culture.
• Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the sales function.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (MBA or advanced certification is an advantage).
• 5–7years of progressive experience in IT sales or business development.
• Demonstrated success in selling IT managed services, AI & RPA, software solutions, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and/or cloud computing.
• Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding multimillion-naira (or dollar) sales targets.
• Experience managing complex solution sales and engaging with C-suite executives.
• Existing client base or strong network within the IT ecosystem is a strong plus.
