Investment Director

A leading London-based private investment and growth platform is seeking an Investment Director to join its investment team.

The firm backs founder-led, service-led, and professional services businesses across multiple sectors, partnering closely with entrepreneurs to support growth, operational scale, strategic partnerships, and long-term value creation. Working closely with senior leadership and the Chief Investment Officer, the Investment Director will play a key role across origination, execution, portfolio support, and value creation initiatives. This is a highly commercial role suited to an individual who enjoys operating in entrepreneurial environments and working closely with founders and management teams.

The successful candidate will lead transactions end-to-end while also supporting portfolio companies through strategic and operational growth initiatives, including preparation for future exits and expansion opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

• Origination and evaluation of new investment opportunities across multiple sectors

• Leading transaction execution, including commercial, operational, and financial diligence

• Supporting portfolio companies post-investment, including board participation where appropriate

• Driving value creation initiatives across portfolio businesses

• Working alongside founders and leadership teams on growth strategy, operational improvements, acquisitions, and scaling initiatives

• Supporting exit planning and readiness across portfolio investments

• Managing relationships with founders, advisers, intermediaries, and co-investors

• Contributing to investment committee materials and strategic discussions

• Mentoring and developing junior members of the investment team

• Supporting joint venture structures and strategic partnership initiatives where relevant

What we're looking for:

• Strong financial background with experience in private equity, corporate finance, M&A, transaction services, or investment banking

• Demonstrable experience leading transactions from origination through to completion

• Strong understanding of financial modelling, valuation, commercial analysis, and investment structuring

• Experience supporting portfolio growth, value creation, and exit activity

• Strong financial and commercial acumen combined with operational awareness

• Ability to operate credibly with founders, CEOs, and senior executives

• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong relationship-building capability

• Experience working with founder-led businesses and growth environments

• Sector-agnostic approach with intellectual curiosity and commercial pragmatism
