The Integrated Biomedical Engineering & Health Sciences Program (iBioMed) is seeking to hire 1 enthusiastic and highly engaged Instructional Assistant Intern (IAI) to support the iBioMed Health Solutions Design Projects courses.
The role of the IAI is to apply both technical and practical skills in the delivery of the course curriculum for specific IBEHS courses as well as the delivery of lab and tutorial course components. Specifically, this entails: 1) reviewing and adjusting course materials as needed, 2) reviewing and testing validation tools and equipment, 3) teaching both lab and tutorial content for IBEHS 1P10, 4) serving in a leadership role through supervision of a large team of teaching assistants for IBEHS 1P10, and 5) acting as both a mentor and role model for IBEHS 1P10 students by helping to bridge their successful transition from high school to university.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to be involved in the delivery of McMaster’s iBioMed Program through the delivery of its foundational design courses. For the successful candidate, this is a valuable opportunity to apply technical skills in engineering and health sciences (e.g., design, CAD, computing, etc.), develop important practical skills in communication, management and teamwork; all skills that are critical for long-term success in the workforce.
The successful incumbent will assist the instructor in collecting and synthesizing Graduate Attribute materials and relevant data for the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) process.
