We are recruiting for an HR Coordinator to provide dedicated support to the University Advancement team mission, values and future goals.
The HR Coordinator provides a full range of HR support to staff and managers within the department. Together with their manager, the HR Coordinator is responsible for the effective service delivery, acting as a trusted advisor to leaders on HR issues and initiatives, supporting the execution of the departments fundraising initiatives, donor relations, and campaign mission, while aligning with the priorities of the Advancement Team and the University.
The HR Coordinator provides consultative support to leaders, with a focus on EDI, while ensuring alignment with department and University policies and procedures, legislation, collective agreements and the Mission, Vision and Values of McMaster University, and while minimizing risk and financial liability to the department. They are responsible, with oversight from the manager, for compliance, equitable practices, and continuous process improvements. It is critical this position is familiar with university policies, collective agreements as well as external legislation such as the Employment Standards Act and the Human Rights Code.
The HR Coordinator will provide HR support in the areas of, recruitment & selection, orientation & onboarding, payroll administration, employee relations, equitable compensation, health and safety, termination/layoff/retirement, absence management, return to work/accommodations, and performance management.
