Autobrains is building the world’s first
affordable Robotaxi platform
— a fusion of ultra-efficient Agentic AI, cloud-defined autonomy, and mass-market scalability.
We are now seeking a
VP, Head of Robotaxi R&D and Operations
, reporting to Chief Autonomous Driving Officer (CADO), a leader who can orchestrate the full symphony: system design, fleet operations, technology partnerships, and large-scale deployment.
This executive will own the end-to-end development, validation, and operationalization of Autobrains’ Robotaxi systems.
They will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, shape the system architecture, establish fleet operations across multiple geographies, and cultivate strategic partnerships needed to bring an affordable Level 4 solution to market.
This role is equal parts architect, operator, and diplomat — guiding a frontier technology from invention to urban streets.
Why Autobrains? Join a company redefining autonomy for the real world. Autobrains’ affordable Robotaxi program combines breakthrough AI with an obsession for practicality — enabling safe, scalable, and globally deployable autonomy, at a fraction of traditional cost.
You will lead the team that brings this vision to life.
Responsibilities:
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in Autonomous Driving, Robotics, Mobility, or related deep-tech fields.
Proven leadership of large R&D groups (50+), ideally including Robotaxi, L4 systems, or scaled fleet operations.
Strong understanding of distributed AI systems, perception/planning architectures, simulation, safety cases, and systems engineering.
Hands-on experience launching fleets, pilots, or commercial AV products.
Credibility with regulators, OEM partners, and technology vendors.
Ability to operate at strategic altitude while diving deep into technical trenches.
Execution strength and operational discipline suited to complex, safety-critical systems.
Robotaxi System Development
Lead R&D for full Robotaxi stack: perception, prediction, planning, control, redundancy, safety, simulation, and fleet intelligence.
Own system architecture decisions based on Autobrains’ Agentic AI, Air2Road, and Cloud-Defined Vehicle principles.
Translate Level 4 performance targets into concrete engineering specifications, milestones, and validation plans.
Build and manage Robotaxi pilot fleets in multiple cities; define operational playbooks, KPIs, maintenance cycles, and driverless operations processes.
Establish real-time fleet monitoring and performance dashboards using digital-twin and simulation-during-driving capabilities.
Coordinate with local regulators, municipalities, and partners to ensure safe and compliant deployment.
Drive continuous improvement loops from real-world data back into the R&D roadmap.
Partnerships & Ecosystem Leadership
Lead technical and operational engagements with OEMs, mobility operators, cloud providers, Tier 1s, and city partners.
Manage integration with partner hardware (compute, sensors, connectivity) and cloud infrastructure.
Represent Autobrains’ Robotaxi vision in strategic, commercial, and regulatory forums.
Organizational Leadership
Build and mentor world-class engineering, operations, and program teams.
Create a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and rapid iteration.
Collaborate closely with the CADO, CEO, and cross-functional leaders to align on roadmap, funding, and global expansion.
