Position Overview

The Head of Mechanical Engineering is responsible for leading the design, development, and validation of all mechanical systems within the organization - including structures, actuators, enclosures, and integration for robotic products. This position oversees the mechanical design team, defines technical standards, ensures manufacturing feasibility, and drives mechanical innovation across prototypes and production models.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement the mechanical engineering roadmap aligned with product strategy.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary mechanical team.
• Lead design of key mechanical subsystems: joints, linkages, frames, covers, and thermal or waterproof enclosures.
• Optimize designs for weight, stiffness, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
• Establish internal standards for CAD design, DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, material selection, and mechanical QC.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Embedded, and Software teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Expert in designing mechanical components, preferably robotic joints or precision mechanisms.
• Expert in CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) for mechanical design.
• Familiarity with actuation systems (servo motors, harmonic drives, torque sensors, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, machining.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes like CNC machining, injection, molding, casting.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication abilities. Structured problem-solving and decision-making approach

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in humanoid or industrial robotics.
