At Flock we do insurance very differently. We're nearing 1 billion connected, insured miles.
Meaning our real-time, data-driven approach enables us to price connected vehicle insurance and assess risk better than ever before, giving fleet owners the insights they need to improve safety. As Head of Engineering, you will create the frameworks, data strategies, metrics and team structures that ensure the engineering team measurably delivers on those business needs.
We have an AI-first approach across the company and the engineering team will move from using supporting tools to creating exciting new products based on the latest AI technologies. You’ll lead that transformation within a diverse team, while ensuring we stay true to our goals and deliver impactful data-driven products.
ESSENTIAL
Engineering Leadership – Proven experience leading diverse, high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
People Management & Mentorship – Ability to coach and empower engineering managers and their teams to deliver impact.
Strategic Thinking – Ability to align engineering priorities with business objectives and drive long-term impact. Measures engineering contributions to revenue, growth, and operational efficiency.
Transparency & Communication – Clear, open, and effective communication across teams and at the leadership level. You should be comfortable getting engineers and their managers the context they need to result in high quality decision making.
Decision-Making & Problem-Solving – Use data and evidence to navigate ambiguity, make trade-offs, and drive execution. Takes accountability for engineering decisions' impact on customer outcomes and business metrics.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management – Experience working closely with product, data, and commercial teams to drive measurable business outcomes.
Scaling & Process Optimisation – Experience designing and evolving engineering processes that enable high-velocity, high-quality delivery.
Culture & Talent Development – Track record of building and nurturing an inclusive, honest and open engineering culture that attracts and retains top talent.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement – Passion for fostering data-driven experimentation, learning, and technical excellence.
