We are looking for a Hardware Design Lead who will take ownership of the design and development of drone hardware systems.

This role involves working on electronics, system integration, and hardware optimization for UAV platforms while leading hardware development efforts and collaborating closely with embedded, mechanical, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of drone hardware systems including PCBs, power systems, and avionics.
• Work on schematic design, PCB layout guidance, and hardware validation.
• Select and integrate components such as sensors, microcontrollers, GPS, IMU, RF modules, and communication systems.
• Collaborate with embedded and firmware teams for seamless hardware-software integration.
• Optimize hardware for performance, reliability, weight, and power efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and debug hardware issues during development and testing phases.
• Support prototype development, testing, and field validation of drone systems.
• Ensure compliance with design standards and assist in certification requirements.
• Guide junior engineers and interns in hardware development tasks.
• Work closely with vendors and manufacturing teams for production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in hardware design, preferably in drones, robotics, IoT, or embedded systems.
• Experience in PCB design, circuit design, and hardware debugging.
• Strong understanding of microcontrollers, sensors, communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN).
• Experience working with RF modules, GPS, IMU, and power management systems.
• Familiarity with tools like Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or similar PCB design tools.
• Understanding of battery systems and power electronics is a plus.
