We are hiring a Head of Finance to lead and mature our global finance function—driving strategic insight, operational excellence, and world-class financial discipline. This is both a leadership and a build role: ensuring we have the policies, systems, and culture needed to scale responsibly and efficiently across regions.

About the Role
As Head of Finance, you will oversee all aspects of the company’s financial management and capability development, including planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, tax, controls, compliance, and financial performance management.
You will be responsible for building the infrastructure, processes, and tooling that enable accurate, timely, and strategic financial decision-making. You’ll lead initiatives to strengthen financial governance, implement scalable systems, and deliver actionable insights that support both near-term execution and long-term strategy.
This role spans across all finance domains—from core financial operations to automation, intelligence, and business partnership—and requires a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end financial management of the business, including planning, forecasting, reporting, and capital allocation
- Provide financial insight and guidance to the executive team, ensuring alignment between strategic goals and operational execution
- Build and maintain multi-year financial models to support decision-making, fundraising, and scaling initiatives
- Own company-level performance tracking, identifying levers to improve margin, cash efficiency, and capital utilisation
Financial Operations & Control
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounting, treasury, credit management, and cashflow forecasting
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance frameworks
- Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting across legal entities and jurisdictions (UK, US, Canada, and beyond)
- Lead external audits and statutory reporting with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
Tax, Audit & Compliance
- Own the company’s tax strategy, including corporate tax, VAT, R&D tax credit claims, and regional equivalents
- Lead all tax filings, submissions, and compliance activities in coordination with local advisors
- Manage audit readiness and continuous compliance across multiple regulatory environments
- Identify and optimise opportunities for tax efficiency within an ethical and compliant framework
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Build a best-in-class FP&A capability to drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Partner with business units to create meaningful, data-driven reporting that informs resource allocation and strategic priorities
- Develop KPI dashboards and business intelligence systems for ongoing visibility into financial and operational performance
- Support scenario modelling and investment cases for product development, hiring, and infrastructure expansion
Systems, Process & Capability Development
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable financial systems (ERP, FP&A, and automation tools)
- Establish company-wide financial policies and standard operating procedures for spend control, approvals, and procurement
- Drive process automation, data integrity, and operational efficiency across the finance ecosystem
- Foster continuous improvement in financial capabilities across people, process, and technology
Business Partnership & Commercial Enablement
- Act as a key partner to engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and go-to-market teams
- Support cost visibility, pricing analysis, and performance management across programs and functions
- Provide financial input into major commercial deals, supplier contracts, and capital projects
- Collaborate closely with Cost Engineering on total cost of ownership, lifecycle cost, and financial trade-offs

What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally including leadership in high-growth, product-based or manufacturing environments
- Strong technical grounding across FP&A, accounting, treasury, audit, tax, and risk management
- Proven success building and scaling financial capabilities, systems, and controls in multi-entity, global organizations
- Experience managing R&D tax claims, UK VAT submissions, and regional tax equivalents
- Highly analytical and structured, with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business insight
- Hands-on leader who combines strategic vision with operational excellence

- Track record managing finance operations across multiple currencies and jurisdictions
