Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo One, a fully autonomous ride-hailing service, and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over one million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving tens of millions of miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 13+ U.S. states. The Supply Enablement Team is responsible for the management of our entire fleet of autonomous vehicles, and is focused on planning and executing vehicle maintenance and uptime software for Waymo's internal use. We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer / Technical Lead Manager. In this hybrid role, you will report to an Engineering Manager. You Will - Manage a team of 4 - 6 Engineers - Lead and support technical direction - Develop Enterprise grade solutions for our partners - Standardize ERP and 3rd party integrations - Build and manage maintenance schedules of vehicles You Have - BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience - 6+ years experience working with backend tech (e.g. C++, Java, Go, Python, Spanner) - 6+ years of experience with Front End (Angular, Javascript, React, etc) - 5 years of people management experience - Technical leadership experience - Experience in product development life-cycle We Prefer - Familiarity with Google infrastructure (e.g. Flume, Borg, Protocol Buffers, OnePlatform) - Development experience with C++ - Working knowledge of frontend frameworks (e.g. Angular, Dart) - Scalability experience
