Part-Time Full Charge Bookkeeper

Position Summary
We are seeking a self-sufficient, trustworthy, and reliable Full Charge Bookkeeper to own the accounting functions for our organization. This is a pivotal, part-time, on-site role (30–40 hours/week) for someone who takes ownership, works independently with minimal direction, and contributes to the growth and financial stability of the company. The ideal candidate will serve as the go-to for day-to-day accounting, establish reliable processes, and provide accurate financial information that supports business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Full Charge Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Maintain complete and accurate general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare and manage accounts payable/receivable and ensure timely recording of transactions
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis
- Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure accuracy
- Assist with monthly close processes and journal entries
Financial Reporting
- Prepare weekly/monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Provide variance analysis and financial insights to leadership
Cash Management
- Track and manage cash flow and vendor payments
- Assist with payroll preparation and reporting, if applicable
- Monitor accounts to ensure accurate cash balances and fund availability
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Prepare and organize supporting documentation for audits and reviews
- Maintain secure and orderly financial records and files
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement solutions
- Own accounting workflows and collaborate with cross-functional team members
- Recommend improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
- Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High degree of integrity, reliability, and trustworthiness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in title insurance, escrow, mortgage, or real estate finance industries
- Experience with financial reporting tools and spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel)
- Demonstrated ability to establish and improve accounting procedures
