Simple AI is building state of the art voice AI agents for enterprise. Our realistic agents help iconic businesses like Doordash, xAI, and Omaha Steaks handle all kinds of phone operations, from customer support to order intake to lead qualifications. We are growing revenue like crazy and looking to hire a couple founding software engineers to help us stay afloat of current customer demand and also build out systems for the future. We are very excited about the potential for AI to change the world, and work out of our SF based office 5 days a week.

The team
We have a tiny, talented team of 5. The founders (Catheryn and Zach) met while running software teams at YC, where they shipped tons of new products for YC founders, including YC’s co-founder matching site. Cat previously worked at Instagram and Facebook and earned degrees in math and computer science at MIT. Zach previously studied computer science and statistics at UChicago and led a software team at PEAK6.

We're looking to hire a versatile backend or full-stack engineer to join us in-person at our SF office as a founding engineer. This is your chance to work at the forefront of voice AI technology with a massive market opportunity.
You’ll work on developing, evaluating, and deploying state-of-the-art LLM and voice systems that push the limits of conversational AI. You’ll also build tools that make it easier to create such agents.
As a founding engineer, you should be self-motivated and passionate about joining an early-stage startup tackling a massive market. We’re looking for people who want to have large ownership and work closely with customers to build products they'll love.
What you'll need
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working in product design and/or front-end engineering roles.
- Comfort moving between Figma (or similar) and React/TypeScript (or similar).
- A strong eye for detail, usability, and visual design.
- Strong problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for addressing technical challenges.
- A customer-first mindset with strong communication skills and interest in product design and prioritization.

Compensation Range: $100K - $220K
