About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Staff Frontend Engineer, Forward Deployed, to join our team at Foxglove. This role is ideal for a product-oriented full-stack engineer with a strong background in robotics and observability. The successful candidate will work directly with strategic customers to integrate and extend Foxglove’s platform within their environments, ensuring seamless adoption and delivering tailored solutions. This position offers a unique blend of hands-on development, creative problem-solving, and close collaboration with customer teams, acting as a trusted engineering partner. The role involves designing end-to-end solutions, deploying on various cloud or on-premise environments, and providing valuable feedback to shape product development. You will play a critical role in bridging customer needs with our product capabilities, thereby driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in JavaScript/TypeScript development
• 3+ years of experience working with Robotics or Autonomous systems
• Experience in customer-facing engineering roles, preferably within robotics or autonomy sectors
• Proven ability to rapidly prototype and iteratively deliver solutions with external stakeholders
• Strong front-end skills in React and TypeScript, with back-end experience in Node.js or Python

Responsibilities

• Embed deeply with customer teams to understand their business goals, technical requirements, and domain constraints
• Architect and develop end-to-end solutions using an experiment-driven, iterative approach
• Draft clear scopes of work, timelines, and success metrics for proofs-of-concept and production deployments
• Code collaboratively with customer engineers, deploying solutions within their cloud or on-prem environments
• Partner closely with Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and measurable outcomes
• Relay frontline insights to Research, Product, and Engineering teams to influence product roadmap
