About the Role

Position Title: Front End Software Engineer
Location: Remote (UK)
Contract Type: Permanent

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Position Overview

As a Front End Software Engineer, you will:

• Enhance Educational Accessibility by developing features that make resources more accessible.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions.
• Collaborate with teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Identify and fix software bottlenecks and bugs.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team improvement.
• Stay updated with new technology trends.

What We Are Looking For

Must Have:

• 3 to 5 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Typescript, and Node.js.
• Practical experience with Amazon Web Services.
• Experience in a CI environment including TDD.
• Proficiency in MySQL/Postgres.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective teamwork skills, especially in a remote setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.

Good to Have:

• Experience with event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with DynamoDB and NoSQL data design.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologies.
• Experience in mentoring junior team members.
• Skills in developing user-friendly, responsive designs.
• Experience working with product teams on improvements.
